Earth’s Promise established ecological food gardens in eight different highschools in Bedouin villages in the Negev desert.
The project was created in cooperation with Ort network, which includes the building, accompanying and instruction, every week, at the schools.
The edible gardens were built by Earth’s Promise’s staff together with students and faculty from the schools.
During the everyday maintance of the gardens the students learn to nurture the plots and learn about sustainable agriculture. The gardens constitues a source for fresh produce for the school and an outside research lab for the environment and ecological courses that take place in the schools.
The gardens will now run independently.
